I've always liked to be behind a camera but never really got into photography until December 2013 when I bought my first DSLR. Since I didn't even know what ISO meant or what a camera's aperture did, I took a photography class, picked up a few basic photography books, and with the help of two wonderful and very patient mentors, started my education. Now, almost 4 years later, I would call myself a very serious amateur 'photographer' rather than someone who just likes to take pictures.
I've fallen in love with learning about photography - how cameras work, what makes a good composition, how to take a tack sharp image, and also experimenting with purposely breaking the 'golden rules' in the name of artistic license. I know enough now to know how much I don't know!
I've come a long way but I also have a long way to go in my journey to capture the light! I hope you enjoy seeing my photos as much as I have enjoyed making them!
